Description
As a scholar of reading, Kamarás István OJD has already examined the reception of works of art and reader behavior in various ways, but so far he has mostly done this within the framework of sociological and social psychological empirical research. This time, he examines the process of reading a literary work within the framework of a borderline genre (belonging to the overlapping sets of professional literature and fiction). Seven readers of The Master and Margarita of different genders, ages, histories, life situations, values, tastes and worldviews reflect in his new work on the one hand on the world-famous novel, and on the other hand on each other's reading. Thus, they become simultaneously characters in the novel, co-authors of the writer, and recipients of the work who get to know themselves better through the influence of the work of art. This is how this unusual reading can be a reading novel, that is, it is both entertaining fiction and, on the other hand, a sensitive presentation of the encounter between the reader and the literary work, which is validated by the results of several decades of literary sociology research by the author who is now creating a reading novel.
